Industrial Systems

Our Industrial systems use a method for mounting and fixing that has components readily available, and is easily adaptable to just about any situation.

The system handle (shown in figure 20) is manufactured from 2.00mm galvanised steel pole.

 

These handles accept and integrate with all 25mm NB fittings and pipe/pole (25mm Nominal Bore, 34mm Outside Diameter), fencing, and mast hardware. This allows the camera system to be mounted easily to existing structures, or setup into complex stand alone stations using hardware and fittings available from just about any hardware store, metal product supplier or fencing product distributor.

 

All Industrial systems are supplied with both top and bottom mounting bars (handles) providing a rigid fix for steady images, and a large variety of fixing options. The end caps are removable for end mounting.

Fixing your camera system using both top and bottom mounting bars will help maintain the integrity of the enclosure against weather, reduce camera movement in harsh weather, ensure adequate system cooling, and easily allow the system to be reconfigured and remounted over and over.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mounting Overview

Twin Leg Mounting

The system can be mounted with standard 25mm bolted Tees from the ends of the handles (butt mounted) or from any position in the middle of the handles (thru mounted).

 

 

This configuration is suited to mounting from fixed structures by either directly bolting or tight-fit clamping. It can be used in sheltered stand alone applications (when installed in a concrete base for example) or fixing to further heavy duty posts.

In the case of a solar powered system, the panel can be mounted facing either direction.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Twin Leg Mounting

This image shows a solar powered 3G wireless model using the twin leg mounting method. This method can also be used with mains powered or non-wireless internal recording models.

Triple Leg Mounting

For professional time-lapse sequences ensuring the camera does not move over the period is paramount. Utilising a 3 leg mounting (or even 4 legs in very exposed situations) can ensure minimal system movement over time. The wind is the biggest factor to take into consideration, especially with solar panels acting as sails.

This recommended configuration is more suited for stand alone mounting or fixing to further heavy duty fixed posts.

This image shows a solar powered 3G wireless model using one variation of the triple leg mounting method (with a side stabilising pole) which offers added camera stability for higher stand alone applications or important timelapse sequences. This method allows the solar panel to be mounted in a variety of directions in relation to the camera head allowing the panel to face north in all applications.

The antenna mast (shown here with the high gain antenna) can be extended higher for greater reception.

The Transportable Farmers Rig

This transportable setup is ideal solution for seasonal or short term monitoring applications such as crop or stock monitoring, or for positions where you do not wish to concrete or permanently fix a system in place.

The system can be easily moved, partially disassembled, re-assembled and placed in its new location, then simply turned on. The length of the feet can be modified according to how you wish to fix the system in position. The system can be fixed down by pegging to the ground or star picketing, or by simply weighting the feet with adequate sandbags, concrete blocks or similar.

This mounting stand can be customised in height for your application or modified to include mounting space for further equipment like moisture or soil meters, or rain gauges and weather stations.

 

The Sentinel - Image Right >

This setup shows a full stand alone solar powered 3G wireless system in a 'Farmers Rig' configuration. The camera head stands approx 900mm from ground level, and by utilising the multi-stream functionality of the camera, allows you to be monitoring and recording multiple images simultaneously, one showing the whole field with the second zoomed in on a plant as an example.

This mounting system allows the solar panel to be fixed in a variety of directions in relation to the camera head to allow the panel the required northerly aspect. This setup can easily be pulled apart by unbolting the galvanised tees, transported or stored, and setup again in a different configuration in minutes.
