Industrial Web Camera Systems Setup

Step 1 - Talk to us about your requirements

Contact us to talk about your web camera requirements. We can help you choose the right system for your needs and guide you through the setup process. Each of our systems have some differences in setup depending on the system specification.

To setup our Industrial Wireless 3G Broadband Solar Web Camera, continue to step 2.

Step 2 - Test your camera location for a wireless 3G connection.

Where possible, test your camera location with a mobile phone or laptop computer by connecting to the internet. On your mobile phone you can usually go into the connection settings to see what networks are available.

If you already have a USB modem for wireless 3G internet, it would be prudent to take a laptop to the location and try to connect to the internet.

If you cannot get a connection with your laptop it doesn't mean a connection cannot be achieved with our web camera systems. We have two levels of high gain antenna that we use on all of our industrial systems which can dramatically improve your connection ability and strength.

Step 3 - Obtain an activated wireless 3G sim card

Setup an account with an internet service provider for a wireless 3G broadband internet connection. You should receive a sim card similar to that which you use in your mobile phone. This can be via a pre-paid account on the Optus network (Optus Pre-Paid, Dodo, Virgin), or via a monthly service arrangement on the Telstra Bigpond or Optus networks. Ensure the sim card is activated with the internet provider.

We recommend using a pre-paid arrangement on the Optus network for many applications, as you can then use your system for only certain times of year without paying for internet services for periods where it is not required.

Not all 3G broadband services will work in every location. Some research may be required with internet providers before creating your account to determine whether you will get connection coverage from your camera location.

For remote or rural areas of Australia an account with Telstra Bigpond is probably the most likely provider to get a good connection. Telstra accounts often require some additional account options to be specificed so talk to us as we can assist you to setup a Telstra account quickly and easily at competitive rates

While Telstra does provide a pre-paid mobile broadband option this service does not work with camera applications as Telstra Pre-Paid cannot be assigned with a public IP address under any circumstances.

Step 4 - Send your activated sim card to us

Send your activated sim card to us with all relevant logins and passwords.

This will enable us to install the sim into the camera system and configure it to automatically connect via the built in modem/router when powered and to configure the more advanced network settings that are required for remote access to the camera.

If you contact us to help you setup a Telstra account we can have the sim card delivered directly to us for installation into your web camera system.

For international customers we will provide instructions for you to install a sim card from your local internet provider.

Step 5 - Mount the system and turn it on

For Australian customers we ship the whole system to you with your activated sim card installed and configured ready to use.

All you have to do upon receiving the system is mount it to a fixed pole or mounting position at your desired location, then from inside the lockable steel case you simply activate a key switch for power charge and system load and the system will be active.

Step 6 - View your images online

We will provide detailed instructions for accessing your images online. We provide 12 months of web hosting for storage and viewing of your images included with the product.

We can also provide instructions and phone support for remotely accessing your camera.

Step 7 - Integrate the web camera images into your website

Talk to us about developing a website that can catalogue and display your images in real time for a public or restricted audience. Click here to learn more about website integration.

We are also dynamic web platform specialists. Visit anso.com.au for more information about web development.

Alternatively have your web developer use the images that are uploaded to the provided web hosting periodically to be displayed on your existing website. Alternatively we can configure your system to upload the images to a different web server if required. We would need FTP login details for the server prior to configuring the camera system.
